Business website for David Jury

Published on Tue Nov 13, 2012 by

I was recently commissioned by creative David Jury to design and develop a portfolio style website for him. David is the editor of TypoGraphic, and Head of Graphic Design at Colchester Institute in the UK. He holds awards of excellence for his typographic work from the New York Type Club, the International Society of Typographic Designers, and ICOGRADA. So his brief was fairly specific in requirements and attention to detail in all aspects of the sites layout.

After a little discussion a horizontal scrolling framework was agreed upon, which enabled project work to be seen as a complete body of work, without having to click into too many sub-pages. A small piece of Javascript enables this horizontal scroll and it is cross-browser friendly. David provided all the images and after optimising and re-sizing, the page creation began. Below are some screenshots. Please visit to see the site in its full glory http://www.davidjury.com

David said "I opened my own website this morning and it looks fine. So, thanks very much, you have done a fabulous job."

"I have employed David for conferences, presentations, social engagements, marketing materials, open days, portrait shots, official document signings amongst many others. David has always been amenable to our sometimes short notice and has delivered our photos in a quick time frame as agreed and sometimes much quicker depending on our needs. He has always been very helpful, he follows and delivers on the brief and is able to give additional value to jobs with minimal briefs. I am more than happy to recommend David and he will no doubt deliver the same quality he provides us."
